Dougal and Lynne have always had a keen interest in ecological research as well as understanding the effect management practises have on all taxa within the ecosystem. Through collaboration with the university groups that come here projects ranging from a small scale two week study up to a 10 year scavenger study have been undertaken on the site. Long term data collection has been on going on the site since Dougal started managing it in 1992. These data sets have fed into many research projects that have been undertaken by leading researchers over the years.
